Penny is dedicated to improving her knowledge of all typesof Reflexology and delivering a better service to her clients.
Penny attended a five day course in Barcelona and qualified in Cosmo Facial & Cosmo Lifting. Training with Lone Sorensen and 12 other reflexologists from Japan, Spain, Denmark and USA was a wonderful experience and gave Penny an insight into how reflexologists from other countries work and promote their therapy. Syon Park School, Syon Park, Isleworth, April 2007- July 2007 Penny worked with students at this school for children with emotional behaviour problems, most children were affected by ADHD, ADD, Tourettes and Aspergers. Penny worked with a group of children giving weekly sessions during the summer term. The school was in the process of changing to a Pupil Referral Unit and wanted to assist the children through the changes. The children found the treatment relaxing and gave them time out from lessons to help them think through issues and problems that they were facing and dealing with. International Face, Foot & Hand Reflexology, Barcelona, May 2007 Penny attended this conference hosted by Lone Sorensen. The event was held over 3 days and guest speakers from around the world gave presentations on their work.
Penny worked on the Facial Reflexology stand in the Oasis Suite at this year’s Vitality show at Olympia. The aim is to promote the therapy and allows people to try a taster of the treatment. Penny is pictured with colleagues Kim whom Penny trained with, Nikke who runs all training courses in the UK for facial reflexology and Sanna who Penny worked with at The Charter School, Dulwich, London SE22. Penny together with colleagues Sanna Battelle and Anna Chrempinska have been giving facial reflexology to selected students. The students needs vary from having specific medical conditions to those who could benefit from the therapy. Each student attends a weekly 45 minute session each Friday. Students really enjoy the experience and are always keen to attend more sessions. The aim of the therapy is to help improve self esteem and confidence, help stimulate the capacity to learn by improving attention span and concentration. It also aims to calm hyperactivity by helping to reduce tension and anxiety. The therapy also aims to support and address the emotional needs and aspects of the students development through puberty. It also gives the students time for themselves to be calm and quiet. |
